One of my daughter’s favorite songs, years ago, was a Laurie Berkner song called “I’m a Mess”. She thought it was hilarious. She would laugh and sing along as Laurie sang, “I’m a mess, I’m a mess, I’m a big old messy mess…”
And she was right because, frankly, kids are messy. And it seems as though the more they try not to be messy- the more they actually are. Enter parents. We clean up after the kids and the pets. For the longest time, there was an antiquated, stereotypical notion that cleaning was the woman’s job, or that dads didn’t know how to clean.
Well, I am proud to say that I am one of the many dads who regularly participates in the cleaning duties. I am equally proud to see that Swiffer recognizes that with their latest SwifferDads campaign.
I was thankful to receive not one, but two Big Green Swiffer boxes that contained a Swiffer Wet Jet each.
I kept one box for me and gifted the other to a dad whom I thought would enjoy the ease and convenience of the Wet Jet.
Truth be told, messes happen, and there is nothing more irritating than having to interrupt time with the fam to address the mess. What I enjoy about the Swiffer Wet Jet is that it is easy to assemble, can be pulled out at a moment’s notice, and makes disposing of the mess equally easy. It’s like a power tool of cleanliness. There’s no mop in bucket – it is a simple one stop solution that allows you to take care of business and return to the things that matter. In fact, when my kids see me use it they often offer to help because it looks fun – and easy.
The Swiffer Wet Jet Starter Kit retails at $21.99, and in this dad’s opinion, is worth its weight in gold simply for the convenience.
Speaking of dads, Swiffer produced two videos about dads and celebrated the efforts that modern dads are making to take a hands on approach to cleaning. The videos feature actor/producer Anthony Anderson and four dads who share their personal stories. So check out the #SwifferEffect with these awesome #SwifferDads.
I was compensated and relieved free product for writing this post. My words and thoughts are my own, and I do actually enjoy my Swiffer Wet Jet.
